Joey is a serving British Army Captain. After 24 years as a soldier, Joey’s devotion to raising and maintaining the standard in his profession saw him reach ‘the top of his tree’ aged only 36. This was recognised in him not only gaining a Queen's Commission, but actually being 'top of the board' out of a Corps of over 14,000 men and women, a phenomenal achievement.

Joey’s riding and driving qualifications speak for themselves. In his pursuit of 'excellence in training' Joey has recently completed a BA (Hons) in Training and Education with The University of Huddersfield and a Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring with The University of Hull. Committed to continuing the learning process, Joey already has his sights on the next project to further his studies.

Joey is the consummate professional, charismatic and extremely likeable , light-hearted but always honest and fair. He is a natural trainer, a real people person, someone to aspire to and learn from.

After tours of duty in The Gulf, Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq, Joey is now firmly settled in East Yorkshire. Taking the role of Training Director for the company allows Joey the freedom to lay down plans to move Smart Rider Training, and its associated companies, into their next phase of training delivery and assessment.
