Gary is a serving British Army Major, currently Officer Commanding of Advanced Training Wing, The Defence School of Transport (DST) Leconfield. DST is the world’s largest rider and driver training school.
After joining the army aged sixteen, Gary’s technical skills and motivation enabled him to progress through the ranks gaining a Queen's Commission in 1999.
Gary is also responsible for the DST Motorcycle Club which meets twice weekly, with up to seventy members in attendance each evening. The club caters for all riding abilities, activities include off and on-road riding, motorcycle maintenance, in-house and external moto-X and enduro riding competitions.
After a number of tours of duty, most recently in Iraq, Gary is now using his vast experience of training delivery for the benefit of Smart. An extremely popular instructor, his life-long love of riding is obvious. Gary's enthusiasm for all things motorcycling is infectious, and is just one of his many attributes that make him an extremely likeable team member.
