Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)
This is the starting point for learner moped and motorcycle riders. It is a training course normally completed in one day, consisting of 5 Elements covering both practical and theory sessions. Upon completion a CBT Certificate will be issued which is valid for two years.
Our CBT Site is located in the grounds of Malet Lambert School, James Reckitt Avenue, Hull. Ideally situated only minutes away from Hull's new purpose-built DSA Test Centre on Clough Road, Hull. It is the largest DSA approved off-road training site in the area, approximately 38,000sq ft of smooth, unobstructed tarmac.
With trainee comfort in mind, a sheltered outside area may also be utilised in the event of rain or bad weather for delivery of elements of the course syllabus. Combined with a fully equipped, 35-seat, centrally heated classroom benefiting from Interactive Whiteboard and PowerPoint facilities, it is undoubtedly the most up-to-date CBT Course available.
Smart CBT Courses run every Saturday commencing at 8-30am

CBT What bikes do we use?
Piaggio Zip 50cc (Twist & Go)
Using our extensive knowledge of the rider training market, we have chosen the Piaggio Zip. Light, manoeuvrable, and easy to ride. The perfect choice for 16 year olds looking to get on two wheels, and trainees not wishing to ride a geared machine.
Honda CG 125 (Geared)
The definitive learner motorcycle. The Honda CG125 provides an excellent introduction to riding a geared machine. It is user friendly, light and has excellent manoeuvring abilities. Experience tells us this is the bike of choice when learning the basic principles of riding safely.
